Concord Dawn: Long Day's End
Zev
They would have exactly an hour in transit. Zev said nothing the first few minutes they had together. Even on their walk back he said nothing. Silent and tense, head constantly swiveling left and right waiting for the other shoe to drop, Zev would keep his stoic expression until they were safely tucked away in his quarters. The bridge was under good hands, they had cleared Federation space and where enroot to Concord Dawn.
There was so much to tell Ranah, to explain what had been going on, what was taking place. All of that however would fall to the wayside. Their people could wait. Their troubles and trials, all of it was moot. Zev wanted her alone, he had her alone now, and he just wanted to see her. To wrap his massive arms around her tiny frame, to take her scent in, Zev just wanted to be with her. It didn’t matter how. But then how did a man like Zev properly convey that?
He was a brute. A warrior long since turned to stone and steel. What emotions he had came in three tones, angry, seething or hatred. Love was queer and foreign to a barbarian like Zev. His passion belonged on the battlefield. His head was chalk full of battles no one had ever heard of, the cries of dying comrades and the rush of adrenaline every time something unexpected happen.
When it came to Ranah however and they relationship they shared, he seemed slow witted. A dull knife unable to express in any real significance, but then again, Ranah had never wanted his love or his words. She wanted his loyalty and that he had given. So when they finally entered his quarters, he nudged her in the direction of the bar. Clicking his helmet off so that she might see his grizzly features, he set it aside on the counter, reaching around with the same arm to pull a cold Mandalorian wine from the cooler. Two short squat glasses, it’s all he seemed to have, came next. Filling each half full he set the bottle down, took the glass in his hand, smelled the fragrance of the alcoholic drink and then raised it.
“To your return, Ranah Vrei. May you never leave us again.”

Ranah
Ranah didn't say very much on the trip back, merely enough to say that she was alright and that no ill or long-lasting effects had been done to her. Her fingers traced along the symbol on her helmet resting on her lap. Tracing along the Vrei emblem. Only when they had touched down on the Adenn Naast had she looked up, replacing her helmet on her head and following Zev from the shuttle. She'd almost felt a sense of disloyalty to him for telling him what to do back there, he was Mand'alor, she was to follow him, not the other way around.
In the end she was in Zev's quarters before she knew it, alone with a man she'd thought of nothing but since she'd had to leave him that day. Her helmet was drawn free, placed on the table in the middle of the room as she slowly approached Zev, taking the glass offered and raising it to him, her golden hues focused on his silven orbs.
"To my husband, for his bravery and loyalty to me, for being a hero when there are so few in the galaxy." she spoke, lightly touching her glass against his before drawing it to her lips and taking a pull from it before she sat it aside and stepped forward to him, gliding her arms around him she hugged him close, they were both such brazen warriors, fearless in the presence of death, but at the moment she showed her one true vulnerability, one true weakness, and his name was Zev Khandrr, someone she simply could no longer be without.

-Husband. That took some getting used to. Not like he wanted anyone else in his arms or warming his bed. Still he smiled those marred lips as he gulped down the contents of the glass and set it down just before she reached him with a hug. He suffered it a few moments before wrapping his own arms around her. How long had it really been? Less than two days and he had already reverted back to his old habits? Flinching at a touch, distant and cold, it felt queer and disjointed. Even if she had haunted his thoughts, she had been in his thoughts for so many years he almost didn’t know how to react
.
He moved his palms along the glossy plates of her suit. Abruptly he pulled her even tighter into his embrace. Words bubbled to the surface. Words he wouldn’t say, as his father had said, words are wind. Actions are what make and define a man. All at once he released her, taking her elbows in his hands and taking a step back. As he did his fingers drew along until he was holding her hands.
He seemed to relax finally. Eyes growing softer around the edges, though he couldn’t hard the dark rings around them, when had he last slept without being woken? A broken smile spread across his warming expression. “I told you I would burn the galaxy down if you ever left me again.”

Ranah too seemed to relax as Zev did. It took a little bit for her to realize she was safe once again, that the Federation wasn't looking over her back, that someone wasn't about to burst in the door and demand she go somewhere. Would Zev ever know that she feared the worst when they'd told her that two Mandalorians had been killed, that she was more afraid one of them had been him.
Her body was drawn against his as he drew her to him. Th embrace she'd missed for so long, and as her eyes lingered on Zev's she saw the weariness in his eyes.
Her fingers slid down Zev's armor to his wrist as he stepped back. Her eyes glimpsed upward for a moment.
"Duncan." she spoke, giving moment for it to acknowledge her, " Mand'alor Khandrr is not to be disturbed till 0900 hours unless it's a Priority One alert." came her command, her eyes lingering on Zev's as she tugged him with her hands on his towards his bed.

-Stormy eyes looked up when she spoke the artificial intelligence’s name, Duncan as Zev had named him, his mentor. While he wanted to delay that order and tweak it, he knew better than to argue with a Vrei. Instead he found her eyes once more, swallowed by their golden depths. Legs began to move tethered to her through his arm. He offered no resistance, his feet didn’t shuffle, they thudded along the uncarpeted floor.
Walking through the door he tapped the door control so that it slide shut without a sound. He watched her scarlet strands cascading along her back with each sway of her hips. Pulling up short just before the bed, he began pulling at his gauntlets, unlatching the various pieces of his suit. They would clunk on the floor after falling from his hands. Wiggling out of the last of it left him in a white t-shirt and loose gray pants.
Stepping out of his boots he was barefoot and looked into the eyes of his wife. He touched her with his flesh once more. He didn’t care that she still wore her armor; he grabbed her jaw and pulled her forth in a furious embrace. Nostrils flared open as he took her scent in, how he had missed it. Lips parted instantly to take his taste. Relishing every morsel as his grip on her jaw lessened.-

Ranah helped Zev with his armor, helping him get out of his suit. Just as she'd began to try and remove her own she was quickly caught in Zev's grip, his lips pressed with hers so intensely, so possessively as he held her lips with his, her lips parted against his, mirroring his motions with a small tilt of her head as her arms slid up and atop Zev's shoulders, coiling around and hugging herself right up against him as she savored the taste and warmth of his kiss.
Oh gods how she'd missed tasting him, feeling him, just to know he was hers and there, even his scent was a relished delicacy to her right now.

-Moments would pass, Zev completely oblivious to them as he lingered in the fountain of affection. Ranah seemed as equally pleased to see him. He couldn’t imagine the ordeal she had gone through in the Citadel, nor could he forgive himself for agreeing to such terms. While she had made the decision he could have countermanded it at anytime. That was the benefit of hindsight. Regardless they would never part from this day forth. They couldn’t even survive two days. With a sigh he parted and began working with his deft fingers to remove the various pieces of Mandalorian armor from her body.
When their armor was a jumbled mess upon the floor he took in his wife. The woman he had longed for such a long time that even just two days longer seemed unbearable. Ranah looked radiant beyond explanation or detail. Was it the confident set of shoulders? The piercing golden eyes that seemed to see everything, or was it the long, shimmering scarlet strands of hair that neatly packed the porcelain visage? Zev knew better than that, while physically attractive, it was the woman beneath the flesh that interested him most. The strong will, the passion that was always so close to the surface. Her loyalty and dedication to a given cause or in his case, a husband, a best friend and a lover, it never mattered how long she had been away, because they would always be able to pick up right where they left off.
While she looked resplendent and beyond beautiful, he looked the exact opposite, the stresses of the job had worn on him. It was all he could do to drink himself to sleep. Just to get his mind off of what may have been happening to her. Just what kind of man does that? For the greater good of his people? To sacrifice the woman he had waited so long for? Even Mand’alor wasn’t worth the price. “Get in bed.” He whispered solemnly, bending down to scoop up their armor. He got most of the pieces in his arms before he made his way over to stand that would hold his armor and an identical stand that would hers. After all it was only fitting that they should be able to store their armor in their room when not wearing it.-

Ranah's fingers traced along Zev's chest as he helped her remove her armor, stripping her free of it, it wasn't long before she'd added her shirt, and her shorts to the mix, sliding onto the bed she tugged the covers back, and her silky body between the sheets. She knew Zev needed rest, and she did as well, and this time, he was going to get some rest, Ranah's orders. Even if they were merely implied. Tomorrow would be a new day, a new day which was a gift to spend with him.
She watched with a smile as her fingers rose up, the armor pieces Zev held began to drift up, spiraling in a perfect display of focus. Ranah held such a perfect memory, almost photographic as she focused her powers into the task, soon the armor hung from both statuettes, perfectly arrayed.
Her lips curled to a small grin as she focused on Zev now, extending her finger towards him and curling it towards herself a few times, beckoning him to join her in the bed.

-Zev always wondered what it felt like to use the Force. Not even so much as a tingle went through him as the armor was lifted from his grasp and onto the pedestals. They were perfectly arrayed, the precise way he would have hung the pieces. Easy to grab and slip on when the situation demanded it. Turning around with a sly grin, he saw Ranah beckoning him to bed. By the time she finished motioning for him to come, he had removed his shirt and pants, leaving him clad only in his boxer-briefs.
Picking the edge of the comforter up with one hand he slipped beneath and into the lushness of his bed. Their bed, he had to remind himself as he eagerly pressed his solid, rigid form into hers. To Zev it would feel just right as though they bodies were meant for each other. Conforming so perfectly as he wrapped both arms around her petite body. Settling in front of her now, he wrapped the other along her hip, dangling into the recesses of the bed as his leg claimed both of her own.
It was then their lips would collide for one more powerful embrace. Not born of lust but of want and longing.

Ranah watched with perfect adoration as her Mandalorian undressed, her eyes roamed over his well toned body, scars placed all over, her eyes slowly rose up to Zev's as she drew in a deep breath of him as he came so near, climbing in with her and wrapping his arms with her body, cupping her hip and tugging her legs between his as he embraced her.
Her arm slipped around him, fingers spread against his back as she slowly began to rub along it, slowly massaging along his back as she leaned to his lips, meeting with his in the perfect longing, passion filled embrace. Her breathing deepened a little as she nudged him over a little bit more, sliding atop him while her lips moved with his a bit more deeply, her fingers drew back and brushed up along his arm and to his shoulder, slowly her lips drew back from his and her eyes gazed down into his.
"I promise you Zev, not for all of Mandalore will I ever leave you again.." she whispered, nuzzling into his jaw with a kiss, and one followed to his neck, "I thought I was protecting you, but all I did was put you in more danger." she added, slowly sucking onto the bottom edge of his ear with a warm heated exhale of affection for him.

-He was too tired, too exhausted to mount any real resistance. It didn’t help that she felt good atop him. His arms had changed their positions. Up and down the bare of her back they roamed. Palms out and down, easing away the tension of the past few days as she had done to him moments before, Zev watched the woman above him with deep dark pools of awareness.
Her smell washed over him and he took it all in. Her lips, the quiet tickling of her hair, the way her eyes adored him. Still the words she spoke took the air from him. When she nuzzled his jaw, he turned his head just so, though his lips missed their mark and instead kissed her ear. “I was the fool who let you go …” he whispered in that halting voice of his. His body moved with the next kiss, exposing his neck to even more, though where she went next caused his shoulder to tense. Exhaling slowly he couldn’t help but smile in the darkness of their room.
“… I was in no danger. I had Duncan. I was worried about you. About making the right decisions for the Mandalorian people, I’m not…” He didn’t know why he was voicing his insecurities; it wasn’t what she wanted to hear. Not tonight where they could be happy, away from the problems facing them. “I’m just glad you’re back.”

Ranah lay with him, looking to his eyes. Her fingers gently ran along his neck, down to his shoulders and back up while she gently soothed over his weary body. Her head tilted with a kiss to his lips, slow and meaningful as she let her eyes draw gently shut, she kissed him a few times in a row, each slow and enjoyable, making out with him before she listened to his insecurities.
While it wasn't something she'd expect Mand'alor to ever portray, he was more than a title, he was her mate, and she very much cared on everything he felt. She could sense the very true conflict in him , the unspoken truth as she nuzzled into his jaw gave a few gentle kisses back to his chin before she spoke soft.
"You are my mate, and any decision you make, even if it is the wrong one, I will always support." Ranah spoke her loyalty to him.
"No one ever said you had to bear the burden alone my love." she told him, kissing his lips gently again. " The people won their freedom, but they couldn't have done it without your guidance. Just as I could not have survived there without thoughts of coming home to you, to this..." she whispered, laying her head down just above his shoulder, her lips gently kissing the side of his neck as she nuzzled into him, drawing in a deep breath of him and slowly letting it back out, intoxicated by him.

Whether the burden rested on his shoulders or they carried it, she didn’t bother him with her problems.
But how could he refuse the tender love she offered him without embracing all that she was? He turned his head as she finally rested upon his shoulder. He was completely relaxed not even a hint of tension in his body. Her small heated breathes moved over the expanse of his chest. He managed to hold onto her with his arm, keeping her there over his body, his broad shoulders an easy pillow for a weary head.
How easy it was for her to a see a hero he never could. A leader where he was only a man, “I couldn’t of done any of this without you. We will never part again in this life.” Before he knew it he had fallen asleep.
